STARZ ON SHERMAN 2010
Last year’s event was equally a success. Nearly a thousand people crammed Carmen’s Banquet Centre as DunnMedia & DunnTributes produced and MC’d CityKidz 2010 Annual Big Dream Banquet. The Oscar themed dinner and show made front page news in the Hamilton Spectator – article here.

To kick off the night, Cheryl Hickey and Rick Campanelli from Entertainment Tonight Canada welcomed guests from their set in Toronto, compliments of Global Television. Thanks ET Canada!

The opening tribute was a Billy Crystal style Oscar song, performed by emcee Kevin Dunn, saluting the thousands of kids and hundreds of volunteers, sponsors and media who support this incredible cause – fighting inner-city child poverty in Hamilton.

An Oscar style evening would be nothing without movies! Videos describing different aspects of CityKidz were preceded by movie spoofs: The first, starring founder and Executive Director Todd Bender.

This one stars CFL Hall of Famer Angelo Mosca: I Was Teenage KinderKid.

The night also included a Celebrity Lip Sync, and starred Ron Foxcroft (Fox 40 International, Fluke Transportation Group) as Michael Buble; Bob O’Billovich (General Manager of the Hamilton Tiger Cats) as Elvis; Sunni & Hayes (K-Lite FM Morning Hosts) as Sonny and Cher, Bill Kelly (900 CHML Talk Show) as Johnny Cash, Brian Mullan (Former Police Chief, City of Hamilton) as Hannah Montana ( what a sport!) – and Dana Robbins (Publisher, Hamilton Spectator) as Neil Diamond. These celebs are true champions, doing it ALL FOR THE KIDS! On behalf of CityKidz, thanks to each of you for making the night such a huge success. (But you better keep your day jobs ; )
